THE INVISIBLE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY
Talaria Transportation helps safely and securely keep the cannabis industry moving
PHILADELPHIA (March 8, 2021) — Operating in 16 states, with a stronghold in the MidAtlantic and the Northeast, Talaria Transportation is the engine that drives the cannabis industry providing high level service for transporting both product and cash.
Talaria specializes in cash management, product and testing transportation for cannabis cultivators, dispensaries, and brands. With the introduction of legalized recreational cannabis sales in five new states, Talaria Transportation is continuing to experience record growth, with recent expansion and growth in Virginia and New Jersey, and plans to enter new markets and expand staffing in 2021.
“Despite the recession in 2020 Talaria experienced 600 percent growth over two financial quarters,” said Ari Raptis, CEO of Talaria Transportation. “We’re continuing to build on that success by being an integral part of the cannabis supply chain in new markets.”
Due to massive state and federal regulations cannabis is primarily a cash business. In an
industry that could generate $23 billion to $30 billion by 2025, according to New Frontier Data, a lack of secure banking options and ways of transacting business is hard to fathom.
“We’re one of the largest, secure cash processors in the cannabis industry,” said Raptis. “Last year we processed about one billion dollars and we’re projecting to double that in 2021.”
Talaria Transportation uses armored Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans driven by former police or military drivers to ensure safe delivery. Additionally, Talaria drivers have decades of combined experience in counter-surveillance, defensive driving tactics, and inclement weather road handling
In addition to cash handling, Talaria Transportation provides full-service cannabis product delivery in the same secure way, moving product from production facilities to labs to cannabis dispensaries.
“An effective logistics partner is as much an information tool as it is a delivery partner,” said Raptis. “Our deep knowledge of the various regulatory statutes and our position as a thought leader allows us to bring value to our customers.”
Talaria is also one of the largest suppliers of ATMs to dispensaries, with more than 200 locations using its cash machines. Onsite ATMs are integral to dispensary business because customers are often in need of cash as credit cards processing isn’t available.
