EXPANDS CANNABIS BRAND AND CULTIVATES INDUSTRY INCLUSIVITY AS A BLACK BUSINESS OWNER
PHOENIX, Ariz., (June 25, 2020) — 420 Ultimate Tours, a company specializing in compliant bus dispensary tours for medical marijuana patients, today announced multi-state expansion plans starting with California and Michigan markets. The company is currently operating in Arizona and is one of the few black-owned cannabis businesses in the state.
Established by Shansan “Chance” Chambers in 2017, 420 Ultimate Tours offers dispensary, community and private event tours on 40-foot custom, limo-style seating buses. The company also provides outdoor advertising and sponsorship opportunities for industry-related businesses. Chambers has worked with some of the most recognized brands in the industry, including Weedmaps, Vapen, Grow Sciences, and networking organizations the Marijuana Industry Trade Association and Women Grow.
“Though it’s been a challenge starting a business in such a competitive and highly-regulated industry like cannabis, it’s been gratifying to watch 420 Ultimate Tours grow into a recognizable brand. My driving motivation has always been my family, especially my grandmother who raised me,” stated owner and founder Chambers.
A Phoenix native, Chambers was the first in his family to graduate from college and received his degree from Grand Canyon University. He was inspired to enter the cannabis space after learning his grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After months of involvement, Chambers recognized a need for more dynamic, patient-focused education as well as safe, social spaces for consumption.
A homegrown entity, 420 Ultimate Tours partners with local non-profits to promote cannabis education in efforts to combat the national opioid epidemic and other wellness causes.
Chambers plans to expand his B2B and B2C tourism model to other adult-use and medical marijuana markets. He is also in the process of launching Mwisho Cannabis in Arizona dispensaries, a product brand named after the Swahili word for “ultimate.”
“I worked hard and sacrificed a lot to start my business. I attended every cannabis networking event I could, often the only black person in attendance, but I didn’t let that intimidate me. In the words of Frederick Douglass, ‘If there is no struggle, there is no progress.’ I want to continue to give back, educate, and encourage the black community to get involved,” said Chambers.
